MCI may be one of the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. It can be caused by different
things, but Alzheimer’s disease is a main factor.

MCI caused by Alzheimer’s disease may develop into mild dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease. This is when problems with memory, speech, and thinking may impact more of daily life. These are not all the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer's disease.
