MCI caused by Alzheimer’s disease may develop into mild dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease. This is when problems with memory, speech, and thinking may impact more of daily life. These are not all the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer's disease.

Forgetfulness
For example, forgetting recently learned information, important dates, or events.

Confusion
For example, asking the same question repeatedly.

Feeling at a loss for words
For example, having trouble naming a familiar object.
These are not all the symptoms of MCI. Only a healthcare provider can diagnose MCI.

Did you know?
People who develop Alzheimer’s disease first experience MCI. However, it may not be recognized or diagnosed right away because of how subtle the symptoms are.
To determine if you have MCI due to Alzheimer’s disease, your
healthcare provider will use different tests and exams.
